The 325 members of the Tiger Marching Band this year – that’s bandsmen, Colorguard and Golden Girls – have majors ranging from accounting to journalism, electrical engineering to music, conservation biology, nursing, physics, and everything in between. This year the Homecoming King, a Golden Girl and a Tiger Band section leader are all engineering majors.
The College of Engineering recently profiled some of these students about balancing their academic demands with music, marching and overall responsibility of buoying the spirits of the football team and 90,000 fans at Tiger Stadium nearly every week.
